Project Engineer - MV Protection & Control Systems

About the role

ABB is looking for a Project Engineer for medium-voltage protection and control systems in Dalmine. The engineer acts as the responsible engineer for projects of varying complexity, leading engineering disciplines on small projects or parts of larger ones. The position reports to the Project Operations Manager and follows a hybrid work model.

Key responsibilities

• Complete engineering assignments efficiently and cost-effectively, in line with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.
• Develop protection relays and control systems, and program project-specific applications that meet customer requirements and interface correctly with other systems.
• Carry out acceptance testing (FAT and SAT) of protection and control systems with colleagues and customers, following health and safety regulations.
• Create and review technical customer documentation for projects and take part in commissioning applications on customer sites.

Required profile

• Diploma in a technical field, preferably electrical or automation; a Bachelor's or Master's degree is a plus.
• Good general knowledge of HMIs, PLCs and I/Os, preferably with ABB products, and of Windows-based operating systems.
• Understanding of control system topologies and communication protocols.
• Ability to work independently and in teams, seeking solutions rather than dwelling on problems.
• Comfortable communicating in Italian and with a good command of English.
• Willingness to travel to some extent for delivery projects.
