Quality Control & Laboratory Specialist

About the role

ABB's Distribution Solutions Division in Dalmine is looking for a Quality Control & Laboratory Specialist who reports to the Quality Control Manager. The specialist conducts tests focused on safety, efficiency, quality and productivity so that products and systems meet their stated requirements, applying test protocols and current industry standards. The role is hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct long-term reliability tests on mass production.
• Analyze test results according to applicable standards to verify product compliance.
• Carry out zero-series validation tests for new products and suppliers, and manage assigned validation projects.
• Perform failure and root cause analysis for apparatus and switchgears.
• Prepare and draft test reports (DMAIC).
• Work with colleagues to optimize test protocols and improve the efficiency, accuracy and reliability of test outcomes.
• Use safety systems, report unsafe situations and work with local HSE teams to improve safety.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with at least 1 year of experience in a similar role, or a technical high school diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with at least 3 years of experience.
• Good manual and hands-on technical skills.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data results.
• Teamwork, organization and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent Italian and a good command of English.
