R&D Quality Assurance Specialist/Officer

About the role

ABB is seeking an experienced R&D Quality Assurance Specialist/Officer to join the Process Control Platform organization. You will work closely with development teams to ensure that all products and systems meet the highest quality standards while supporting continuous improvement across the R&D function.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain R&D processes to ensure a common way of working and reporting.
• Guarantee that mandatory processes, procedures, and standards are consistently applied.
• Monitor product and system quality by collecting data, defining, and tracking quality KPIs.
• Support development teams in applying the Quality Management System and advise on quality‑assurance activities.
• Conduct audits, reviews, and random sampling to verify process compliance and product quality.
• Assist in setting quality goals for development streams and act as an independent auditor against release criteria.
• Collaborate with the continuous‑improvement team to drive improvement projects.
• Coach and train teams on quality practices and standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Science or Engineering (relevant technical field).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in quality management, verification, testing, or operational excellence.
• Knowledge of software and/or hardware development processes.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, curious, and eager to learn new technologies.
• Structured, analytical, and able to handle parallel activities without compromising quality.
• Strong collaborative and communication abilities, with facilitation and stakeholder‑influence experience.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure DevOps and Power BI is a plus.
