Senior Consultant Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Consultant Engineer you will join AspenTech’s Professional Services team in Pisa, Italy, helping customers in the refining, petrochemical and specialty chemicals sectors transform their operations through advanced process simulation. You will lead technical delivery on projects that drive process optimization, energy reduction and emissions improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Act as technical lead on small to medium‑size projects, ensuring technical issues are resolved and customer satisfaction is achieved.
• Coordinate solution delivery together with the AspenTech Project Manager and the client to meet milestones, delivery dates and financial targets.
• Review process flow diagrams, P&IDs, mass balances, plant data and process manuals to define simulation scope.
• Implement projects using Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, Aspen OnLine and related AspenTech simulation tools.
• Participate in client meetings, prepare project documentation and reports, and deliver user training as needed.
• Present results confidently to clients and identify opportunities for additional services.

Required profile

• University degree in Chemical Engineering (Master’s or PhD is a plus).
• Minimum 5 years of experience modelling refining, petrochemical or ethylene processes.
• Experience in a service‑oriented organization is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Aspen HYSYS.
• Proficiency with Aspen Plus.
• Proficiency with Aspen OnLine.
• Strong process simulation and modelling capabilities.
• Ability to interpret process flow diagrams, P&IDs and mass balances.
