Senior Information Systems Assistant

About the role

The Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT) in Brindisi, Italy, is seeking a Senior Information Systems Assistant to support its Enterprise Solutions Service. Working under the guidance of a Senior Information Systems Officer, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of critical UN‑wide applications.

Key responsibilities

• Provide support for computer information systems, databases and applications, performing complex troubleshooting.
• Participate in development, programming, testing, debugging and implementation of new application releases, modules and functionalities, including version management.
• Design and develop applications using multiple programming languages and UN‑established IT standards.
• Install software and hardware, monitor applications with appropriate tools and produce monitoring reports.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, managing changes according to change‑management procedures.
• Assist in refining support and operations procedures and advise users on programming interfaces.
• Lead small‑scale projects from planning through implementation, liaising with users to define requirements and delivering prototype systems.
• Contribute to feasibility studies, systems analysis, design, testing and evaluation of application solutions.

Required profile

• Reports to a Senior Information Systems Officer within the Enterprise Solutions Service.
• Demonstrated experience in supporting enterprise‑level information systems and applications.
