Senior Project Manager – Renewable Energy (Solar PV & BESS)

About the role

UL Solutions is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead technical due‑diligence projects for solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and onshore wind within its Renewables Advisory team for the EMEA region. The role will focus on the Italian or Polish market and support business development across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and execute independent engineering and technical advisory services for financing, sale or acquisition of renewable energy assets.
• Lead technical due‑diligence for solar PV and BESS projects, including site assessments, technology reviews, design evaluations, contract analysis and financial modelling review.
• Produce comprehensive technical due‑diligence reports integrating inputs from multidisciplinary teams.
• Conduct site visits, compile progress reports and ensure projects stay on schedule, budget and specifications.
• Collaborate with internal project managers, associate managers and sub‑consultants to deliver high‑quality deliverables.
• Serve as primary client interface, attend meetings, foster relationships and support business‑development initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in renewable energy, covering due‑diligence, development, construction, operations or M&A.
• Deep expertise in Solar PV and BESS projects; local market knowledge of Italy or Poland.
• Understanding of battery technologies, PCS, BMS, battery cells and balance‑of‑system equipment.
• Familiarity with solar PV KPIs, energy modelling and basic financial modelling.
• Resilient team player able to manage multiple complex projects under tight deadlines.
