Senior Research Associate – Future You Program

About the role

The University of New South Wales is seeking a Senior Research Associate to lead research for the Future You program, which aims to broaden participation in STEM among young students. This fixed‑term, part‑time role will involve independent and collaborative research on equity, diversity and inclusion in STEM education.

Key responsibilities

• Design and conduct systematic reviews and meta‑analyses aligned with the program’s Theory of Change.
• Carry out empirical studies evaluating the impact of program resources on students, teachers and parents.
• Prepare research reports, academic manuscripts and presentations for funders and scholarly audiences.
• Mentor and supervise research trainees and contribute to the development of junior academics.
• Develop a personal research portfolio and begin drafting independent research proposals.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent experience in education, social science or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated track record of scholarly impact in equity, diversity or STEM education research.
• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams and limited supervision.
• Ability to communicate research findings to both academic and non‑academic stakeholders.
