Senior Solutions Consultant

About the role

Appian is looking for a Senior Solutions Consultant in Rome to work with the Solutions Consulting team, which partners with sales to show how Appian's AI-powered process automation platform solves complex business challenges. The role involves architecting custom Proof of Concepts (POCs) and Proof of Values (POVs) for enterprise customers, engaging C-level buyers and feeding customer needs back to Product Management. Fluency in Italian and English is required.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Account Executives to meet regional sales goals and drive the technical strategy for high-value target accounts.
• Lead the scoping, design and delivery of custom POCs and POVs for prospective enterprise customers.
• Present complex technical and business architectures to a C-level audience.
• Drive technical responses and functional strategy for RFPs, RFIs and detailed client proposals, handling complex technical objections.
• Work with Product Management to convey customer requirements and help shape the product roadmap.
• Build reusable assets such as architectural blueprints, frameworks and customer stories, and mentor associate consultants.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Information Technology or a closely related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Solutions Consultant, Pre-Sales Engineer, Solution Architect, Technical Consultant, Enterprise Architect or client-facing Professional Services consultant in enterprise software sales.
• Proven success delivering technical demos, custom prototypes or POCs/POVs for enterprise customers, with strong technical discovery and requirements analysis.
• Ability to travel to customer sites and field events, up to 30%-70%.

Required skills

• Strong technical fluency in enterprise application architecture, REST APIs, databases, SQL, integrations, cloud environments or modern development languages.
• Preferred: experience designing architectures for regulated industries (financial services, insurance, life sciences, public sector).
• Preferred: familiarity with production environments and platforms such as Salesforce or ServiceNow.

• Base salary range of EUR 50,000 to 110,000, with a possible discretionary bonus.
