Senior Staff Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to lead financial operations for assigned business units and customers in Milan. The role involves overseeing month‑end close, budgeting, reporting and ensuring compliance with GAAP.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the month‑end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations and accruals.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in developing annual budgets and long‑term financial forecasts.
• Create ad‑hoc reports for customers and operations as needed.
• Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and quarterly reviews.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, chart of accounts and accounting policies.
• Collaborate with operations to analyze performance, reviewing sales, expenses and budget variances.
• Review and reconcile labor costs associated with specific jobs.
• Analyze tax assessments, prepare and file sales/use tax reports when required.
• Identify and implement process‑improvement opportunities within the accounting function.
• Support special projects and initiatives assigned by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in accounting or a related field.
• Strong analytical and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a demanding environment.
