Service Technician

About the role

MacGregor is launching a new service hub in Trieste, Italy, to support its European customers. As a Service Technician you will work on shipboard cranes, winches, hatch covers, steering gears and RoRo equipment, performing hands‑on maintenance and repairs at client sites across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Perform supervised service activities such as inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, refurbishments and upgrades on MacGregor and third‑party equipment.
• Work directly with electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems across the product portfolio.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
• Follow site safety rules, agreed working practices and environmental requirements.
• Prepare accurate service reports, timesheets, travel expenses and related documentation.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external customers, representing MacGregor professionally on site.
• Co‑operate with the wider MacGregor service network throughout Europe.

Required profile

• Apprenticeship, technical diploma or degree in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or a related field.
• Up to 2 years of hands‑on technical experience.
• Good command of English for report writing and on‑site communication.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across Europe, including overnight and multi‑week assignments.
