Trim Developer

About the role

Burberry is seeking a Trim Developer to lead the research, development and delivery of trims for its ready‑to‑wear collections. The role bridges design vision and commercial execution, ensuring high‑quality, cost‑effective trims that meet brand standards and launch timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong vendor partnerships, understanding capabilities, capacity and delivery schedules.
• Lead seasonal trim research, presenting new concepts aligned with design direction and brand standards.
• Define and manage the trim development critical path, monitoring milestones and mitigating risks.
• Oversee sourcing, ordering and delivery of trims, achieving quality, cost and timing targets.
• Collaborate with Design, Product Development and Engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and support product testing.
• Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date information in PLM systems to ensure transparency throughout development.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of trim development, materials and construction, with ability to translate design concepts into technical solutions.
• Proven experience working with vendors and building effective partnerships.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, balancing creativity with commercial awareness and cost considerations.
• Knowledge of fabrics, raw materials, garment construction and leather is highly valued.
• Effective communicator comfortable influencing cross‑functional teams.
