Application Engineer – Industrial & Robotics

About the role

Aptiv is expanding its portfolio beyond automotive into industrial, robotics, and adjacent markets. The Application Engineer will act as the technical bridge between customers and Aptiv’s connector solutions, helping to embed our products into new industrial and robotic applications.

Key responsibilities

• Visit customers to understand their challenges and propose technical connector solutions that become part of their production lines.
• Provide the “voice of the customer” to internal business and engineering teams.
• Track and improve Aptiv connector penetration and growth across customers, markets, and product lines.
• Recommend new products and technologies for the industrial and robotics roadmap.
• Develop competitor benchmarking data to highlight value‑proposition opportunities.
• Lead Bill of Materials (BOM) development for internal quoting processes.
• Conduct customer technical reviews and prepare supporting materials for internal business reviews.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 3+ years of experience with wire‑harness, connector products, and industrial or robotics markets.
• Proven ability to solve complex technical problems, analyse data, generate insights and gain customer acceptance.
• Strong communication skills, including the creation of polished PowerPoint presentations.
• Hunter mentality with a track record of strong performance and career progression.
• Effective team collaboration experience.
