Associate Medical Director – Neurology

About the role

The Associate Medical Director – Neurology will provide medical leadership and expertise for clinical trials and safety evaluation within Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Pharmacovigilance department. You will guide study teams through protocol development, site selection, and ensure the scientific integrity of trial conduct.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the creation and amendment of clinical trial protocols, incorporating the latest scientific information.
• Participate in site selection, review and approval of study documents such as CSRs, ICFs, CRFs, and protocol deviation decisions.
• Perform real‑time medical monitoring of studies to validate primary endpoints and ensure subject safety.
• Serve as the primary medical liaison between the sponsor, PPD, and internal Thermo Fisher departments throughout all study phases.
• Educate investigators and site staff on protocol‑specific laboratory procedures and provide medical training at investigator meetings.
• Address queries from investigators, IRBs, and Health Authorities, and prepare materials for executive and safety committees.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, GCP, and all relevant regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with extensive experience in clinical trial conduct and pharmacovigilance.
• Proven ability to provide medical leadership and make data‑driven decisions.
• Strong understanding of GCP, SOPs, and regulatory expectations.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with investigators, sponsors, and internal teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in clinical research.
