Group Accounting Manager

About the role

Unobravo Italia is looking for a Group Accounting Manager to lead the accounting function, manage an in-house team and coordinate with external accounting firms so that accounting across the Group is accurate, timely and compliant. The role reports to the Head of Finance, is based in Milan with occasional travel to Naples and other locations, and pays EUR 60,000 - 75,000.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of four accountants and contribute to day-to-day accounting operations, including bookkeeping, reconciliations, closings and tax deadlines.
• Manage the general accounting of Unobravo Italia and oversee the accounting of foreign subsidiaries, working with external firms and local teams for monthly, half-year and year-end closings.
• Coordinate statutory and Group consolidated financial statements with external accounting firms.
• Redesign accounting processes, workflows, controls and system integrations, using NetSuite, automation and AI-enabled tools.
• Partner with management and cross-functional teams on business initiatives, assessing accounting and tax implications.
• Support the Board of Statutory Auditors, external auditors and other stakeholders during audits.
• Oversee intercompany transactions, reconciliations and balances, and ensure proper elimination entries on consolidation.
• Define the tax framework for new services and products, and ensure compliance with tax deadlines and filings.

Required profile

• Degree in Economics or a related field.
• Solid experience in accounting roles, including financial closing of Italian and foreign entities.
• Previous experience managing a team of accountants and working with external accounting firms.
• Proven track record in redesigning or optimizing accounting processes.
• Ability to explain complex accounting and tax topics clearly to non-specialists.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Italian accounting standards (OIC) and Italian tax legislation, especially VAT.
• Knowledge of consolidated financial statements and intercompany transactions.
• Excellent proficiency in ERP systems and digital tools; NetSuite is a power-up.
• Experience building accounting automations or controls with AI (e.g. Python, SQL, Excel/Google Sheets scripts, NetSuite saved searches).
• Previous experience in an accounting or audit firm is a power-up.
