Mechanical Automation Designer Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Mechanical Automation Designer Engineer to join its Treviso team. You will apply your strong foundation in physics, mathematics, and materials science to solve mechanical challenges, design custom tooling, and support the full product life‑cycle of semiconductor and display equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design activities for automatic machines and systems, both independently and collaboratively.
• Develop and manage project documentation, including layouts, assembly models, detailed designs, and bills of materials.
• Execute and document analysis and validation tests to improve products and resolve technical issues.
• Design, develop, and modify mechanical engineering schematics and specifications.
• Oversee manufacturing and installation processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Coordinate procurement and assembly of mechanical components, identifying critical parts and subsystems.

Required profile

• High‑level expertise in industrial automation and mechanical design of automatic machines.
• Proven ability to solve moderately complex to complex engineering problems.
• Responsibility for delivering designs that meet deadlines, cost targets, and project specifications.
