Registered Nurse 2 – Full Time

About the role

The University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse 2 to deliver patient‑family centered care in Naples, FL. The RN will work in a culturally competent environment, applying evidence‑based standards to ensure safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on responses and physician orders.
• Report symptoms, vital sign changes, and diagnostic test results to the care team.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while considering age and cultural factors.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and operate medical equipment.
• Provide psychological support, assist with discharge planning, and serve as a preceptor for new staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.
• Active Florida Registered Nurse license.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, nursing care methods, and procedures.
