Site Manager - Energy Projects

About the role

Hitachi Energy is looking for an experienced Site Manager in Milan to lead the delivery of complex energy and infrastructure projects. You will take ownership of site execution from mobilization through commissioning and final handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to high quality standards. You will be the senior Hitachi Energy representative on site.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all site activities from mobilization through commissioning and handover
• Create and maintain a strong safety culture in line with company standards, customer requirements and local regulations
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors and suppliers
• Plan, organize and monitor site activities against project schedules and milestones
• Act as the main on-site contact for customers, authorities and stakeholders
• Ensure works follow approved specifications, quality requirements and contracts
• Identify risks and put in place mitigation and recovery plans
• Manage site logistics, materials and resources, and support cost control, change management and commercial performance
• Lead, coach and develop site personnel

Required profile

• Degree or technical diploma in electrical, mechanical, civil engineering, construction management or a related field
• Significant experience managing site-based construction, installation, commissioning or project execution
• Proven track record leading complex industrial, infrastructure, energy or EPC projects
• Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers, customers and project teams
• Fluency in English and willingness to travel across domestic and international sites
• Background in power transmission and distribution, renewables, data centres or industrial infrastructure is highly desirable

Required skills

• Knowledge of construction, installation, testing and commissioning processes
• Understanding of project scheduling, risk management and cost control
• Proficiency with project planning tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project or equivalent
