Director of Public Affairs – Italy

About the role

The Director of Public Affairs for Italy will shape and lead an integrated strategy across government affairs, communications and patient advocacy, supporting Incyte’s growth and market positioning within the Italian healthcare ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a comprehensive public affairs strategy aligned with business priorities.
• Advise the General Manager and leadership team on external environment, policy trends and reputation management.
• Build and maintain high‑level relationships with national and regional policymakers, institutions and trade associations.
• Lead corporate communication, media engagement and crisis communication readiness.
• Develop and implement a patient advocacy strategy, forging partnerships with patient organisations.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Market Access, Medical, Commercial and Legal teams to ensure aligned external engagement.
• Oversee agencies and external partners to deliver high‑quality outcomes while ensuring compliance and ethical standards.

Required profile

• Senior leader with proven experience in public affairs, government relations or communications within the healthcare or pharmaceutical sector.
• Strategic thinker capable of translating complex policy landscapes into actionable plans.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to influence senior policymakers and media.
• Excellent communication and narrative‑building abilities.
