Sales Manager - Diabetes CGM Medical Devices

About the role

An international medical device company in the diabetes space (CGM) is expanding its direct presence in Italy and is looking for a hands-on, commercially driven Sales Manager. The role is based in Milan or Rome and is field-based, with the aim of moving the market from distributor-led to direct sales, building strong stakeholder relationships and laying the foundation for future team growth.

Key responsibilities

• Own and accelerate the Italian market expansion, shifting from distributor to direct sales
• Drive commercial strategy and execution across key accounts such as hospitals, decision-makers and diabetes networks
• Lead and support the tender process in Italy, from preparation to submission and follow-up
• Build and nurture relationships with KOLs/KOCs and key stakeholders in the diabetes landscape
• Establish the local structure from 0 to 1 and help shape the business plan, team setup and growth roadmap

Required profile

• Proven sales track record in Italy as a Senior Territory Manager, Regional Sales Manager or similar (direct sales)
• Strong diabetes background (CGM, BGM, insulin pumps or related diabetes technologies)
• Solid understanding of the Italian tender environment and how to win in complex market access settings
• Leadership mindset: management experience or clear drive and capability to grow into management while staying hands-on
• Fluent Italian and English; ideally based in or near Milan or Rome
