Senior Project Lead Engineer (m/f/d)

About the role

HITACHI ENERGY's Grid & Power Quality Solutions and Service global product group is looking for a Senior Project Lead Engineer in Milan. The role acts as design authority for a particular engineering discipline and leads small engineering teams on low-complexity projects, while supporting proposals, installations and subcontract management.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, select and apply standard techniques, procedures and criteria for conventional projects with few complex features.
• Act as design authority for a particular engineering discipline.
• Collaborate on project installation, commissioning and site activities, clarifying issues and providing technical support.
• Assist in creating proposals by coordinating proposal documents and engineering estimates and performing risk analysis before submission.
• Oversee the creation of subcontract documents and manage subcontractors jointly with other functions, including supply chain management.
• Ensure engineering activities comply with safety regulations and contractual requirements.
• Lead and coordinate teams in all engineering disciplines (in-house and outsourced) on low-complexity projects, including single or multi-discipline teams of less than 5 people.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Energy or Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
• 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in GIS (gas insulated switchgear) and/or AIS (air insulated switchgear) and/or EPC power plants.
• Able to work with multiple stakeholders, with proven coordination of projects and people.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English and Italian.
