Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

About the role

This newly created Director of FP&A position will lead the financial planning and analysis function for a fast‑growing international organisation. Based in Malta, the role reports to senior executive leadership and influences strategic decision‑making across multiple business units.

Key responsibilities

• Build, lead and develop a multi‑location FP&A team, partnering with senior stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain robust financial control, governance and budget adherence frameworks.
• Design and continuously improve finance processes, reporting standards, policies and system capabilities.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, long‑range planning, financial modelling and scenario analysis.
• Manage corporate, commercial and operational performance reporting, KPI tracking and variance analysis.
• Monitor revenue, cost, profitability and operational performance, driving efficiency improvements.
• Lead development of FP&A data infrastructure, BI capabilities, forecasting models and automation initiatives.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration; professional qualifications (ACCA, CPA, CMA) preferred.
• 10+ years progressive FP&A, business control or finance leadership experience in a multinational environment.
• Proven track record of building or transforming FP&A, reporting, governance and control frameworks.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, governance and risk management.
