Field Engineering Manager, Italy

About the role

Databricks is looking for a Field Engineering Manager to lead a team of technical pre-sales Solutions Architects and Solutions Engineers in Italy, working from Milan. The manager partners with the sales organization to drive revenue while coaching sales and pre-sales teams to work together, and guides the team to communicate complex, business-value-focused solutions and support complex sales cycles.

Key responsibilities

• Hire, mentor and grow the pre-sales team in Italy
• Build a motivated, collaborative culture in a hyper-growth team
• Support increased return on investment of sales involvement in sales cycles
• Ensure solution and value-based selling within the field-engineering organization
• Show an understanding of the needs and revenue potential of accounts in the assigned region
• Engage with key customer executives to build and strengthen strategic partnerships
• Align with partners and internal services to secure implementation strategies within accounts
• Help build Databricks' brand as part of the regional leadership team with Marketing and Sales

Required profile

• Experience managing a team of successful Big Data, Cloud or SaaS professionals
• Experience in consumption-based business environments
• Experience mentoring and scaling technical teams
• Proven success in setting up processes for technical field members to lead efficiency and product focus
• Ability to partner with Sales and other cross-functional leaders
• Technical or consulting background in Data Engineering, database technologies or Data Science
• Italian native speaker, fluent in English
