Maitre - La Terrazza, Season 2027

About the role

Splendido, a Belmond Hotel in Portofino, is looking for a Maitre for the 2027 season at its La Terrazza restaurant, one of the most spectacular restaurants in the hotel. The Maitre reports to the Restaurant Manager and is expected to provide an excellent, personalised guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Anticipate guests' needs and handle guest complaints, delivering a personalised experience in line with service standards
• Cooperate with the Restaurant Manager on staff development
• Manage staff in everyday operations according to the standard and procedures
• Maintain a professional relationship with guests and colleagues
• Advise on best-selling prices and review them regularly according to the Restaurant Manager's instructions

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years' experience in the same role in the luxury hotel industry
• Experience preferably at an international level in a fine dining restaurant
• Fluent English and Italian; a third language is desirable
• Effective communication, emotional intelligence, adaptability and collaboration

Required skills

• Professional knowledge of Italian cuisine and Italian and international wines
• HACCP certification
• Exceptional customer service skills

What we offer

• Seasonal labour contract under the C.C.N.L. Settore Turismo (Level 3, Maitre), from March to November 2027, with the aim of continuous collaboration over subsequent seasons
• Monthly gross salary plus separate payslips for the 13th, 14th month and TFR
