Security Compliance and Assurance Analyst

About the role

The United Nations Global Service Centre in Brindisi is seeking a Security Compliance and Assurance Analyst intern to support its Digital and Compliance Unit. This six‑month internship will focus on enhancing disaster recovery capabilities, automating resilience processes, and delivering clear visual insights for mission‑critical services.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing and updating Information System Contingency Plans to match current infrastructure.
• Identify gaps between defined Recovery Time Objectives and actual technical capabilities.
• Support coordination of Disaster Recovery Exercises, tracking metrics and documenting lessons learned.
• Validate automated recovery workflows to ensure they run without manual intervention.
• Develop interactive PowerBI dashboards that display real‑time DR readiness and testing coverage.
• Research generative AI tools for parsing system configurations and generating updated DR runbooks.
• Explore AI‑driven predictive analytics to forecast capacity bottlenecks during failover scenarios.
• Maintain the Service Continuity Library, ensuring all critical assets have accessible recovery documentation.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or completed a graduate programme, or in the final year of a bachelor’s degree.
• Field of study related to Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or similar.
• No prior professional experience required.

Required skills

• PowerBI for data visualization and dashboard creation.
