About the role
The Guest Service Officer delivers friendly, passionate, and committed service to guests aboard our vessel. Acting as the first point of contact, the officer listens actively, resolves issues, and ensures a high level of guest satisfaction throughout the 5‑6 month contract.
Key responsibilities
- Greet guests, respond to inquiries, and provide accurate information about ship facilities and services.
- Handle guest complaints promptly, using active listening and problem‑solving techniques to achieve satisfactory resolutions.
- Process cash transactions, manage currency exchanges, and maintain accurate financial records in line with US currency standards.
- Coordinate with department heads and shipboard staff to facilitate guest requests and resolve operational issues.
- Operate standard office equipment such as telephones, computers, and copy machines to support daily administrative tasks.
Required profile
- Minimum one year of experience in a customer‑facing role within the hotel or related hospitality industry.
- At least one year of cash handling experience with knowledge of US currency and exchange rates.
- Fluent in both English and Italian, with clear spoken and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal abilities, a sense of humor, and a genuine passion for hospitality.
- Willingness to work onboard for a period of 5‑6 months.
