Country Manager – Italy Medical Device Market

About the role

EDAN Instruments, a leading provider of advanced medical equipment, is looking for a Country Manager to launch and grow its business in Italy. The role combines market entry strategy, subsidiary setup, sales leadership and brand building to establish a strong foothold in the Italian medical‑device sector.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan for the Italian market, including market analysis, competitive strategy, financial projections and sales targets.
• Build and manage a local distributor and agent network, and design direct‑sales models for hospitals, government procurement and key accounts.
• Lead the legal incorporation of an Italian subsidiary, ensuring compliance with local regulations and establishing office operations.
• Create and implement localized marketing and brand‑promotion activities, engage Key Opinion Leaders, major hospitals and strategic partners.
• Oversee product registration, certification and compliance with EU MDR and Italian medical‑device regulations.
• Recruit, train and manage the initial local team, defining a team development plan aligned with business growth.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in Business, Marketing, Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
• More than 10 years of sales experience in the medical‑device industry, with at least 3 years in a Country Manager or equivalent leadership role.
• Proven track record of building a business from the ground up in Italy or the broader EU.
• Deep knowledge of the Italian healthcare system, tendering procedures and EU MDR regulations.
• Established professional network within the Italian medical community.
