Embedded Software Engineer

About the role

Thales Alenia Space is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join its real‑time and embedded engineering team. You will work on a variety of devices ranging from radars and smart‑cards to wearables, supporting telecommunications and IoT solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and test scalable, high‑performance embedded features.
• Apply coding and security best practices to produce clean, reusable code.
• Collaborate with developers, UX designers and other stakeholders to ensure product quality.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of emerging technologies and frameworks.
• Participate in integration and testing activities using simulation tools.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Experience working in DevOps/Agile/Scrum environments.
• Interest in real‑time, low‑level development close to hardware.
• Ability to work on both small and large embedded devices.
• Good written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Embedded operating systems: Linux, VxWorks, FastOS.
• Programming languages: C, C++, VB.NET, ADA, Assembly.
• Communication protocols and interfaces: DDS, ARINC.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, GCP.
• Automated deployment tools: Helm, YAML, Ansible, Docker.
• Project tools: JIRA, Confluence.
